WHY WE NEED TO ACT NOW:
  • Republicans want to pass laws and amend the U. S. Constitution to deny marriage equality for LGBT citizens.
  • Texas Lawmakers want to give heterosexuals "preferred" status over LGBT parents in providing foster care for children.
  • President Bush has appointed two Supreme Court Justices.  Only our Democrats in the Senate can protect our rights.

WHAT WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED:
  • Stonewall Democrats of San Antonio (SDSA) has made a difference in every recent election.  Every year the margin to victory narrows.  Especially in tight races, our efforts pay off.
  • We have registered over 1,600 new LGBT voters over the past three years!
  • We lobbied Texas State Senators and Representatives in Austin to vote against anti-LGBT bills.


 WHAT WE ARE DOING NOW:
  • Educating candidates on our issues.
  • Educating voters about candidate views via our endorsement process.
  • Volunteering time for the campaigns we support.
OUR MISSION

 The mission of SDSA is to participate in political activities that create a strong and effective voice for the LGBT communities in local and state policy decisions.

THE PURPOSES OF SDSA:
  • To educate Democratic candidates and elected officials on issues of importance to the LGBT community.
  • To educate the LGBT community about the Democratic Party and encourage participation in all levels of the political process.
  • To screen, endorse and support the election of fair-minded Democratic candidates to public office.

  • Get on our mailing /email lists.
  • Attend our meetings.
  • Raise and contribute money.
  • Register more Democrats to VOTE!
  • Volunteer time to campaigns; block-walking, phone-banking, etc.
