Final Endorsement Meeting for 2012 General Election

There will be an Endorsement Meeting during our regular monthly meeting on Monday, August 20, 2012, 6:30 pm, in the Fiesta Room of Luby's Cafeteria, 911 N. Main Avenue. The purpose of this meeting is to revisit those races in which our endorsed candidate did not win in the May 29 Democratic Primary or the July 31 Democratic Primary Runoff and to consider whether to endorse the winner in those races, provided the winner was otherwise eligible for our endorsement, so as to finalize our endorsements for the November 6 General Election.
The following nine (9) races will be considered for endorsement:
- United States Representative, District 23 (Winner: Pete Gallego)
- Member, State Board of Education, District 3 (Winner: Marisa B. Perez)
- State Representative, District 117 (Winner: Philip Cortez)
- State Representative, District 125 (Winner: Justin Rodriguez)
- District Judge, 166th Judicial District (Winner: Laura Salinas)
- County Tax Assessor-Collector (Winner: Albert Uresti)
- Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 2, Place 1 (Winner: Roberto "Robbie"Vazquez)
- Constable, Precinct No. 1 (Winner: Ruben C. Tejeda)
- Constable, Precinct No. 2 (Winner: Val Flores)
To be eligible to vote on these endorsements, a member must be a member in good standing as defined in Article IV, Section 1 of the SDSA Bylaws and have been a member for at least 30 days prior to the endorsement meeting. Lapsed members, whose dues are less than a year in arrears, may renew their membership at the time of the endorsement meeting and will be eligible to vote.
